TRUE SUCCESS OF A DRAMA MINISTER
TRUE SUCCESS OF A CHRISTIAN DRAMA
By Sunday Achor
When a minister’s ministration does not in any way affect his life for God, such a person cannot be described as a success in Christian drama ministry, whose overall goal is not so much the impact it had on the audience but what spiritual impact did it have in my life as an actor and a Christian. Drama is as much for the participant as for the viewer else the main purpose stand defeated.
Drama ministers are expected to use this unthreatening way of evangelism as a tool to administering the message of the gospel of Christ and not merely entertaining their congregation ,if not Christian drama will degenerate to the level of secular play which Jesus is not the focal point. We need to come to the understanding that Christian drama is a spiritual ministration and not just an entertainment affair. It is this understanding and working in light of it that marks the difference between secular and spiritual drama. In all our script writing and drama presentation we should ensure that Jesus is the Substance-no more, no less. So we must not weaken or diminish the purpose of Christian drama by introducing things that are unscriptural rather our focus should remain proclaiming the message of Salvation to the unbelievers, encouraging ,warning and the teaching believers on various life subjects. Making Christ plain through acting scriptures should be our mandate.
As we work towards ensuring that Christian drama succeed in our time, we the drama ministers must be closer to our bibles now than ever, the word of God is the only reliable, correct and accurate source of our motivation and inspiration. Good success can only be attained when we study, meditate and do (act as drama ministers) the word (Joshua1:8). Therefore, gone are the days, when Christian drama ministers will hate to studying the bible either individually or collectively as a group. Even in our home videos today, we see actors using scriptures though, some are used negatively but at least they look at the scripture to get that. Friends, ours is different, we have to study the word not because we want to use it to act but to know Jesus personally and fully. Bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. You cannot make known to others, the person you don’t know, and also keep praying so that you can be filled with knowledge of His will in all wisdom, creativity and spiritual understanding (Col.1:9-10),since Christian drama is a spiritual matter , so you can’t risk been ignorant.
Fellow drama ministers, the true success of a Christian drama is that both parties are ministered to .It is not so much about performing to an audience but also spiritual ministration to one’s life. You are on the road to heaven and leading others through the power of the Holy Spirit to the same heaven, not going to hell and leading others to heaven. It is a gross contradiction for a minster who fornicates to teach about sexual purity in drama. It won’t be successful or someone well known to be a specialist in keeping malice in her local assembly to advocate love while acting in the same domain. It’s against common sense and therefore tantamount to self-deception. My prayer for all drama ministers is that God will encounter us, save us and help us to lead precious soul to Him. Shalom

Why Not Believe God Too? Life is full of warnings: the flashing lights at a railroad crossing, the screaming whistle of an approaching train, and signs of warning such as sharp Curve ahead, danger High voltage and do not enter. When we hear a police siren we quickly get out of the way. Yet when God want warns us to “flee the from the coming wrath”(Matthew3:7NIV)we are indifferent. Is not God’s warning more important than any of those others? If the warning label on the bottle says Poison, we are careful with its contents. If health authorities say the water is contaminated, we stop drinking it. Yet when God tell us the “wages of sin is death”(Rom.6:23),we go right on sinning. If the painter puts up a sign that warns Wet Paint , we do not touch. If we see a No Trespassing sign, we stay away. But, but when God tell us that “the soul that sins…will die”(Ezek.18:20),we continue to sin. If a doctor says a person has a contagious disease, we stay away. If a sporting event requires a ticket, we buy one. Yet when Jesus says, “No one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again” (John3:3), we disregard His word. If a sign says Free Sample, we make sure we get one. But when the Bible says that “the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”(Rom.6”23)we reply, “Not now,” even though we desperately need it.
